HEAD COACH RESUME:

Head Coach Adam Sherman became the head coach of the University of Saint Francis football team on May 22, 2025, after serving the previous three seasons as offensive coordinator. Sherman succeeds Kevin Donley as the second head coach in program history.

Sherman was named the Mid-States Football Association Midwest League Assistant Coach of the Year in 2024 after leading the Cougars offense as one of the best units in the NAIA and helping the team return to the playoffs for the first time since 2019.

Sherman earned a bachelor’s degree in Social Studies Secondary Education/Exceptional Needs at Saint Francis in 2005. He returned to Fort Wayne to join the Cougars staff in March 2022 after coaching three years of high school football in Florida.

A 2020 inductee into the Saint Francis Athletic Hall of Fame, Sherman played for the Cougars from 2000 to 2005, helping the Cougars to their first national championship game appearance in 2004. In 2004, he received the Rimington Trophy as recognition for being the best offensive center in small college football.

Coach Sherman was a part of the Marian University staff from 2008 to 2012, winning the NAIA national championship in 2012. Sherman left Marian and joined the staff at Walsh University from 2013 to 2016 as the offensive coordinator/assistant head coach.

After his time at Walsh, Coach Sherman became the head coach at Greenfield-Central High School from 2016 to 2018.

He and his wife, Kari, who is a Saint Francis alumna (’04) with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies, have four children: Hayden, AJ, Rory, and Fisk.
